As part of the Developing India goals for 2047, Uttar Pradesh has begun work on progressively developing employment in the tourism sector. The state’s tourism and culture departments are focused on improving this sector’s employment potential. At present, tourism accounts for about 1.4% of the total employment in the state. This will be complemented by an increase in premium hotel inventory, set to grow by more than four times, enabling better accommodation options for both domestic and international travelers.

The strategy also emphasizes increasing the average length of stay for foreign tourists, which will lead to higher spending per tourist and generate jobs across the hospitality, transportation, and service sectors.
