Tropical Storm Edouard forms in Gulf, targets Texas and Louisiana with heavy rain, flood threat
Tropical Storm Eduoard's first impacts of tropical storm force winds will be likely starting Tuesday morning along the northeast Texas and southwest Louisiana coastline.

Tropical Strom Edouard has formed in the Gulf, threatening heavy rain and flash flooding across parts of Louisiana and Texas, with landfall expected soon by Tuesday afternoon.
In the 8:00 p.m. ET advisory, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) announced that Edouard has sustained winds of 40 mph, currently moving through the Gulf west north-west at 6 mph.

Tropical storm force winds will be likely starting tomorrow morning along the northeast Texas and southwest Louisiana coastline.
A tropical storm is a tropical cyclone with maximum sustained winds between 39 and 73 mph, making it stronger than a tropical depression.

Edouard is expected to reach the upper Texas or southwestern Louisiana coast on Tuesday, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to the region.
The Houston Metro could be in the bullseye for at least 3 to 5 inches of rain from the system as the storm moves inland slowly on Tuesday.
Additionally, coastal flooding could play a major role and depending on how quickly Edouard moves inland.
