Thailand’s Cultural Richness and Wellness Tourism Thrive at WTM 2025: What You Need To Know

Thailand's presentation at WTM 2025 highlights wellness, culture, and sustainability with the "Healing is the New Luxury" campaign, enhancing tourism appeal.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has presented an innovative representation of the country’s rich culture, wellness, and sustainability at the World Travel Market (WTM) 2025 in London under the theme ‘Senses of Siam: A Journey to Total Well-being‘. The presentation, which forms a part of TAT’s global campaign ‘Healing is the New Luxury’, is intended to promote Thailand as a destination for rejuvenation, wellness, and cultural experiences, while at the same time declaring sustainability and eco-conscious travel as the key areas of focus.

Held from November 4 to 6, 2025, at ExCeL London, WTM is one of the world’s leading events for the global travel trade, and Thailand’s participation this year marks its 44th consecutive year at the event. The Thailand Pavilion was adorned with floral arrangements and presented under the “Amazing Thailand” logo, providing visitors with an immersive experience of Thai hospitality and heritage.

Royal Support and Cultural Celebrations Highlight Thailand’s Presence

Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana graced the Thailand Pavilion, where she participated in a demonstration that highlighted Thai wellness cuisine and mocktail-making. These activities, inspired by lotus blossoms and butterfly pea flowers, offered a taste of Thailand’s traditional culinary techniques and its focus on health and well-being. This royal visit underscored the continuous support for promoting Thai tourism on the global stage and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to sharing its cultural richness.

The official opening ceremony of the pavilion was marked by a Loi Krathong theme, celebrating one of Thailand’s most cherished festivals. This cultural demonstration brought the charm of Thailand’s traditions to London, inviting visitors to explore the country’s warm hospitality and cultural vibrancy.

A Vision of Wellness and Sustainability for Global Travellers

The “Senses of Siam” theme highlights Thailand’s commitment to providing travellers with a holistic and restorative journey. The pavilion’s design merges contemporary Thai architecture with regional textiles and crafts, symbolising the country’s balance between modernity and heritage. This blend is also evident in the Thailand Pavilion’s focus on wellness tourism, with a product showcase featuring 19 health and wellness providers from all regions of Thailand. These providers represent Thailand’s diverse approaches to wellness, from traditional healing practices to cutting-edge medical wellness and luxury spa experiences.

The ‘Map of Thailand: A Journey to Total Well-being’ at the pavilion visually maps out the country’s regional wellness offerings. Visitors can explore wellness options from Northern Thailand’s serenity and traditional healing, to Southern Thailand’s exotic tropical detox experiences, and the coastal rejuvenation of the Eastern region. The product showcase also introduces a collaboration with the luxury brand “Senses of Siam x Butterfly Perfume,” featuring five fragrances inspired by Thailand’s natural and cultural landscapes: The Lanna Mist, The Isan Sun, The Siamese Garden, The Andaman Tide, and The Eastern Orchard.

Thailand’s Wellness Innovation on Display

The Thailand Pavilion at WTM 2025 also hosted a curated range of Thai wellness innovations, including aromatherapy products, herbal skincare, and holistic lifestyle goods that reflect Thailand’s commitment to well-being and contemporary design. Daily workshops such as Zira Spa & Massage Chiang Mai and aroma essential oil workshops provided hands-on experiences for visitors, while a display of traditional Thai costumes (Chud Thai) and jewellery showcased the country’s intricate craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

As part of its efforts to promote sustainability, the Thailand Pavilion also highlighted eco-friendly tourism practices, reflecting the growing trend of responsible travel that balances luxury and environmental consciousness. This commitment aligns with TAT’s broader initiatives to encourage visitors to explore lesser-known destinations and support sustainable tourism through their Hidden Gem programme.

Building Global Connections for Future Growth

TAT anticipates over 1,500 business appointments during the three-day event, with a projected 1.33 billion Baht in potential tourism revenue. Thailand’s participation at WTM 2025 serves as a crucial platform for networking and promoting Thailand’s wellness and cultural tourism offerings to the global market. The UK, one of Thailand’s most important long-haul markets, remains a key focus, with increasing UK visitor arrivals contributing significantly to the country’s tourism growth.

Between January and October 2025, Thailand welcomed over 836,907 visitors from the UK, reflecting a 13.12% increase compared to the previous year. With an average stay of 15.9 days and an average expenditure of 63,000 Baht per trip, British travellers continue to be drawn to Thailand’s rich cultural experiences, wellness tourism, and beautiful landscapes.

Thailand’s Global Appeal as a Wellness Destination

Thailand’s participation in WTM 2025 showcases the country’s dedication to becoming a global leader in wellness and sustainable tourism. Through the ‘Senses of Siam’ presentation, TAT has successfully communicated Thailand’s rich cultural heritage and innovative wellness offerings to the global tourism community. With its commitment to healing, connection, and restoration, Thailand positions itself as a top destination for those seeking relaxation, rejuvenation, and authentic cultural experiences. As the tourism industry continues to recover, Thailand’s presence at WTM reaffirms the country’s appeal as a premier destination for well-being and cultural exploration.
