The direct flight, operating twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays, connects Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, to Seoul’s Incheon International Airport in approximately four hours. The return journey is slightly shorter, taking about 3.5 hours. This new service effectively doubles the travel efficiency compared to previous routes, which required longer layovers and connecting flights. The direct air link is seen as a major convenience for travelers between the two regions, providing quicker access and fostering closer economic and tourism ties.

In addition to the new flight service, South Korea has made a significant move by offering visa-free entry for tourist groups from China. This temporary measure, effective from September 29 through June 2026, is designed to encourage tourism between the two countries. To complement the new travel options, Guizhou has launched a five-day tour route departing from Guiyang. The Guizhou Aviation Group, which oversees the province’s air travel development, has ambitious plans for the future. The group has expressed its intention to continue expanding air routes across East Asia and Southeast Asia. In line with this strategy, the airport and provincial authorities have also introduced a 240-hour transit visa-free policy, designed to attract more international visitors to Guizhou.
