SM MOA Arena Surpasses 2,400 Shows, Hosts Over 1.1 Million Attendees in 2025
Since its opening in 2012, the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena has become a premier venue for sports and entertainment in the Philippines, hosting more than 2,400 diverse shows and events. Its state-of-the-art design, cutting-edge facilities, and versatile space have solidified its reputation as a modern, world-class destination for both local and international acts.

SM MOA Arena Surpasses 2,400 Shows, Hosts Over 1.1 Million Attendees in 2025
In 2025 alone, the Arena hosted over 200 events, ranging from concerts and sporting competitions to cultural performances, attracting a total audience of over 1.1 million—an increase of 10% over the previous year. This uptick clearly demonstrates the growing popularity and high demand for events held at MOA Arena, driven by a steady interest from promoters worldwide and within the country.
This 15,000-seat venue has hosted major international acts like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and BTS. It has also hosted prominent sporting and cultural events, including the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship, and significant activities for Miss Universe 2016. Additionally, longtime family productions such as Disney On Ice regularly appear on its event schedule.
“These events reflect the strength of demand for large-scale, professionally managed venues in the Philippines,” said Jeffrey C. Lim, President of SM Prime Holdings. “Our continued investments in our arena portfolio align with our strategy to strengthen our integrated developments, support tourism, and deliver compelling live experiences to our customers.”
To ensure sustained competitiveness, SM Prime has carried out specific infrastructure and technology enhancements across its arena platform.
In 2025, MOA Arena finalized a US$2.1-million project to install a new center-hung LED system from Daktronics, boosting visual clarity and offering greater flexibility for sports events and concerts. Previous upgrades involved large digital displays and improved entry systems aimed at enhancing crowd movement, efficiency, and security.
The new SM Arena Cube center-hung improves the viewing experience with crisp visuals and immersive surround sound. It enhances sightlines from every seat and, as part of the venue upgrades, supports high-definition live feeds, real data integration, and synchronized visuals, emphasizing the venue’s dedication to top-quality live entertainment.
SM Prime plans to expand its venue footprint by opening SM Seaside Cebu Arena in the second quarter of 2026. Situated within the integrated SM Seaside City Cebu development, this new venue aims to increase access to large-scale entertainment in the Visayas and boost tourism, retail activity, and regional economic engagement.
Beyond its flagship arena, SM Prime also hosts live events at medium-format and outdoor venues, with a total capacity of 110,000.
These venues include the SMDC Festival Grounds, which can host up to 70,000 attendees; the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, with a capacity of 20,000; and the SM Cebu Concert Grounds, also able to accommodate 20,000 guests.
