Pokémon Asia 30th Anniversary Official Site Goes Live Today

Since the original Pokémon games were released—Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green in Japan in 1996—The Pokémon Company is celebrating its 30th anniversary with events and initiatives. These will take place in seven Asian cities: Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Hong Kong.

Set to be Asia’s largest Pokémon celebration in honor of the 30th Anniversary, the event lineup features PokéXciting!, Pokémon Run, Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, shopping mall campaigns, and more.

The “Pokémon Asia 30th Anniversary Official Site” will launch today, June 3rd, at 12:00 PM JST, as part of the initial announcement.

Mr. Susumu Fukunaga, Corporate Officer of The Pokémon Company, expressed, “This celebration honors everyone who has traveled with us over the years. Whether you’re a current Trainer or a longtime fan returning to Pokémon, we welcome you to share in this milestone. We are also excited to introduce Pokémon to new fans in the Asian region. We hope this event offers a great chance for those unfamiliar with Pokémon to discover it for the first time.”

“We are pleased to bring to you a dedicated website to officially connect to our fans in Asia for each celebration in the seven cities. We hope everyone can look forward to the celebration together.”

The “Pokémon Asia 30th Anniversary Official Site” now offers content in several languages, including English, Traditional Chinese, Thai, and Indonesian. Visitors will find familiar faces, such as beloved starter Pokémon from various generations, highlighted with festive decorations and a lively atmosphere. Besides upcoming news, users can explore Pokémon’s history and original storylines, taking a nostalgic journey through its early days.

 

Marking the first reveal of its kind, PokéXciting! takes center stage as a major highlight of Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary celebrations in Asia. It will bring large-scale festivities to five cities across Asia, each offering its own unique Pokémon experience as part of the anniversary events.

PokéXciting! is poised to be a complete city takeover in five Asian cities as follows.

  • Kuala Lumpur: September 12 -13, 2026
  • Taipei: October 10 – 11, 2026
  • Singapore: November 7 – 8, 2026
  • Manila: January 23 – 24, 2027
  • Bangkok: February 13 – 14, 2027
