The expansion includes Sofia in Bulgaria, which began receiving four weekly flights on 20 September 2026. Vilnius in Lithuania followed on 26 October, with three weekly services connecting the two capitals.
Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina will receive two weekly flights from 3 December. On 14 December, Wizz Air will introduce daily connections to Milan-Malpensa in Italy and three weekly services to Pristina in Kosovo.

Germany Strengthens Winter Tourism Links with Finnish Lapland and Northern Europe
Northern Europe is an important focus of Berlin Brandenburg Airport’s winter timetable, particularly for travellers interested in snowy landscapes and seasonal holidays.
airBaltic will introduce direct flights from Berlin to Kuusamo in northern Finland on 19 December 2026, operating once weekly.
Eurowings will also launch services to Kuusamo from 20 December, providing another option for visitors travelling to Finnish Lapland.
The region attracts tourists interested in skiing, winter landscapes, outdoor recreation and northern European holiday experiences.
Berlin’s expanded connections to Rovaniemi and Kittilä will further support access to Finland’s winter tourism destinations.
Together, these developments create more opportunities for German residents to visit northern Finland and for international travellers to connect through Berlin.
Berlin Expands Middle East Connectivity with Abu Dhabi, Doha and Dubai Services
Berlin Brandenburg Airport’s winter network also includes important connections to the Gulf region.
Condor introduced daily nonstop flights between Berlin and Abu Dhabi on 15 October 2026, operating under a codeshare arrangement with Etihad Airways. The connection offers onward travel opportunities through Abu Dhabi to destinations across Asia, Africa and Australia.
Qatar Airways is restoring three daily Berlin–Doha flights from 1 November 2026, providing connections through its international hub.
The airport’s original winter timetable also listed daily Eurowings flights to Dubai from 1 November. However, Lufthansa Group subsequently updated its plans on 23 October, postponing Dubai services until 25 November 2026 because of regional operating conditions.
Eurowings has also announced Baghdad services from 10 December, initially operating once weekly, with twice-weekly flights planned around Christmas and New Year.
These services remain subject to operational and regional safety conditions. corporate.berlin-airport.de+1
Berlin–Beijing Flights Gain Modern Aircraft as Hainan Airlines Updates Winter Operations
Long-haul connectivity is another important part of Berlin Brandenburg Airport’s winter programme.
Hainan Airlines will deploy the Airbus A330-900neo on three of its five weekly flights between Berlin and Beijing.
The aircraft features an updated passenger cabin and improved operating efficiency compared with the aircraft previously used on the route.
The connection provides direct access between Germany’s capital region and China, supporting international tourism, business travel and wider economic links.
For passengers, the aircraft change represents an improvement in onboard facilities rather than the launch of an additional destination.
The airport’s official announcement identifies the newer aircraft as quieter and more efficient, reflecting continued investment in passenger experience and fleet modernisation. corporate.berlin-airport.de
Berlin Airport Announces Important Terminal Two Changes for Winter Travellers
Berlin Brandenburg Airport is also introducing changes to passenger processing during the winter season.
From 2 November 2026, Terminal 2 will operate under revised opening arrangements. Check-in counters will generally open between two and two-and-a-half hours before departure, depending on the airline.
Passengers travelling with hand luggage only may also use security controls in Terminal 1, which continue opening at 04:00.
All departure gates remain accessible from the airport’s security control areas, allowing passengers to use the appropriate screening facilities.
Travellers should check their airline’s terminal arrangements, baggage requirements and departure information before arriving at the airport.
The changes are particularly relevant during the winter period, when seasonal services and holiday travel may affect passenger flows. corporate.berlin-airport.de
