Goa is all set to host the highly awaited Goa Carnaval 2026, a vibrant celebration that will unite locals and tourists through spectacular parades, lively music, and mesmerizing dance performances. The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, is ready to present Goa Carnaval 2026, one of the state’s most iconic cultural festivals. Renowned for its joy, vibrant colours, and strong sense of community, Goa Carnaval is a true reflection of the state’s festive spirit and cultural richness. This year’s edition promises a more immersive and inclusive experience, capturing the heart of Goa for both residents and visitors alike.

The announcement of Goa Carnaval 2026 was made in the presence of several key officials, including Shri Kuldeep Arolkar, Managing Director of GTDC, Shri Dhiraj Wagle, Deputy Director of Tourism, and Shri Cedric Da Costa, the symbolic King Momo, who brought the festive spirit to life. Together, they unveiled the plans for a grand celebration that will unite locals and tourists alike in a vibrant display of Goa’s cultural pride.

Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte stated “Goa Carnaval is a celebration of joy, inclusivity, and cultural pride. By taking the festivities across multiple locations, we aim to ensure greater community participation while offering visitors an authentic and memorable Goan experience. Carnaval 2026 will continue to reflect our vision of responsible and regenerative tourism, celebrating our traditions while caring for our people and environment.”

Director of Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik added “Carnaval is one of Goa’s most vibrant cultural expressions, and Goa Carnaval 2026 has been planned to ensure wider reach, safety, cleanliness, and a high-quality festive experience. Through coordinated celebrations across the State, we aim to present a joyful, well-managed, and culturally rich Carnaval for residents and tourists alike.”

Managing Director, GTDC, Shri Kuldeep Arolkar , highlighted the scale of preparations and support being extended for Carnaval 2026, stating “Goa Carnaval 2026 is being organised with a total outlay of approximately ₹1.53 crore, which includes ₹48 lakh towards prize money to encourage greater participation and creativity, and ₹1.04 crore towards infrastructure and logistics across all centres. Centre-wise allocations include ₹19 lakh for Porvorim and ₹16 lakh for Morjim, while Panaji, Margao, Vasco and Mapusa have been allocated ₹29.35 lakh towards prize money and infrastructure, ensuring uniform standards of quality, safety, and visitor experience across locations. This structured investment reflects our commitment to delivering a professionally managed, vibrant, and inclusive Carnaval across Goa.”

The festivities will officially begin with the traditional Curtain Raiser on February 13, 2026, at Porvorim, followed by the ceremonial flag-off of the Carnaval parade in Panaji on February 14, 2026. On February 15, 2026, Margao will host its vibrant celebrations, which will be followed by Vasco on February 16, 2026. The grand finale will take place on February 17, 2026, with spectacular celebrations in Mapusa and Morjim, ensuring that the spirit of the Carnaval reaches every corner of North Goa.

In addition to the thrilling parade and celebrations, the official Carnaval Jingle 2026, performed by RhythMix, was unveiled to set the musical tone for the festivities. The lively anthem captures the essence of the event, while King Momo’s rallying slogan—“Amche Goem, Amche Lok, Amcho Carnaval – Viva Goa, Viva Carnaval”—embodies community pride, inclusivity, and the collective celebration that Goa Carnaval stands for.

Each location will host colorful float parades, vibrant performances, and live music, creating a lively atmosphere where both locals and tourists can join in the celebrations. The event offers a rich cultural experience, showcasing Goa beyond its famous beaches.
