The Tourism Innovation Summit 2025 in Seville marked another milestone for the global travel industry as it hosted the sixth edition of the Touristech Startup Fest, the largest international competition dedicated to innovation in tourism. The event reaffirmed Seville’s role as a global hub for travel technology and entrepreneurship, bringing together visionaries shaping the future of tourism through smart, data-driven, and sustainable solutions.

This year’s edition witnessed extraordinary participation, with over 400 startups from across the world vying for recognition. From this vast pool of talent, 40 promising finalists were selected to pitch their groundbreaking ideas to leading travel-tech investors, venture capitalists, and representatives from top-tier tourism companies. The finalists represented a truly global mix, with entries from Germany, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Brazil, South Korea, the United States, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.

Each finalist showcased a unique project designed to transform tourism through advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, 5G connectivity, automation, cybersecurity, and immersive AR/VR applications. The competition featured ideas tailored for key tourism sectors including hospitality, distribution, destinations, mobility and travel, leisure and activities, and the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry.

The jury recognized six emerging companies that stood out for their innovation, scalability, and contribution to responsible tourism.

The Sevilla Techpark Award went to Aloja AI from the United States for its cutting-edge AI-powered revenue management system. The platform automatically adjusts hotel and accommodation prices in real time by analyzing market trends, demand patterns, and competitor activity. This solution eliminates manual processes, helping tourism operators boost profitability while maintaining competitiveness and efficiency.

From Spain, Escena 4.0 earned the NEBEXT Award for revolutionizing the design of multi-purpose spaces through sustainable, modular, and energy-efficient infrastructures. Its system enables venues to instantly transform into theaters, cinemas, or command centers while using integrated audiovisual technology powered by renewable energy. This innovation is redefining urban and tourism spaces by merging creativity with environmental responsibility.

The WTTC (World Travel & Tourism Council) Award was presented to TravelNet for its EmotionTech platform, a transformative approach to travel planning centered on traveler emotions rather than traditional filters like destinations or dates. By analyzing user moods, TravelNet helps travelers find experiences aligned with their emotional state, bringing a new dimension of personalization and depth to the tourism experience.

The Andalucía Nexus Award was claimed by Turicleta, a Spanish startup promoting sustainable rural mobility through its electric bicycle network. Operating 79 active stations, Turicleta supports eco-friendly transportation and economic development in remote regions, addressing rural depopulation while encouraging responsible tourism practices.

Twintual won the Venture Studio Sevilla (VESS) Award for developing an AI-powered “digital twin” assistant designed for hospitality staff. This technology automates guest communication across multiple channels, ensuring consistent and timely responses. By reducing repetitive tasks, it allows hotel employees to focus on providing high-quality, personalized service.

The La Fábrica de Sevilla Award was presented to Yacan, whose intelligent access control and electronic lock technology modernizes hotel and rental property security systems. Its platform enables seamless integration of online booking and check-in with smart locks, improving guest experience and property management efficiency.

In addition to the six main winners, two rising companies — Turbosuite and Aumentur — received the Scale-up Excellence Award in recognition of their rapid growth, innovative business models, and contributions to advancing travel technology.

The Touristech Startup Fest 2025 not only celebrated technological ingenuity but also underscored the growing importance of collaboration, sustainability, and human-centered design in shaping the next chapter of global tourism. As travel continues to evolve in a hyperconnected world, events like this highlight how creativity and innovation are paving the way toward smarter, greener, and more emotionally engaging journeys.
