Immediate evacuation orders issued as wildfires rapidly spread across Nevada and Northern California

In California, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office issued immediate evacuation orders for areas threatened by the Timber Fire.
"Load your family, pets and emergency supply kit," the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post. "Consider taking essential documents and records."
The California Highway Patrol’s Monterey Office also announced the closure of State Route 1. The highway is closed on the north side at 47,200 Highway 1, near Fernwood Resort, and on the south side at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park Vista Point near mile marker 37.

"This is your window to get ready: pack a go-bag, gather essential items and make arrangements, especially if you have pets, large animals or need extra time or assistance to leave," the sheriff’s office said.
The closures and evacuation orders come as the Timber Fire has burned more than 2,400 acres and is just 5% contained.
Officials said all previously issued evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect.

While in Nevada, the Washoe Sheriff’s Department has issued evacuations north of Winnemucca Ranch Road to the junction of State Routes 445 and 446 as the Bug and Stallion fires continue to scorch the region.
Officials said that evacuees must go southbound of State Route 445 to evacuate the area. State Route 446 is closed in both directions at the junction and is impassable due to the Stallion Fire.
The Bug Fire has burned more than 57,300 acres and is only 3% contained, while the Stallion Fire has scorched over 22,400 acres.
