Qantas Frequent Flyers in Australia Set to Unlock New Status Credits Through Home Loans From December
Qantas Frequent Flyer Status Credits will include home loans from December as Qantas adds a new lender.
Australian Qantas Frequent Flyer members are being offered a new route towards loyalty status as Qantas Frequent Flyer Status Credits are prepared for expansion beyond flights in December 2026. Banking and home loans will be included among ten everyday earning categories, with up to 140 Status Credits available each membership year across those categories.
The change follows the appointment of ColCap Financial as a second lender for Qantas Money Home Loans. More lending options are being introduced as the programme passes $3 billion in settlements. For travellers, the development links a major household expense with airline rewards and status benefits.
New Qantas Status Credits December 2026 Opportunities Beyond Flying
From December 2026, members will be able to earn up to 140 Status Credits per membership year through ten everyday categories. Banking and home loans will be included for the first time. The change is intended to offer additional ways to earn and retain Qantas Frequent Flyer status alongside flying, rather than through flights alone.
The Qantas Status Credits December 2026 development will bring mortgage products into a broader loyalty structure that already includes opportunities linked to credit cards, shopping and insurance. However, the 140-credit figure applies across the ten categories collectively. No specific Status Credit allocation for individual home loans has been provided in the announcement.
Qantas Frequent Flyer Status Credits will therefore become relevant to eligible customers considering both their travel activity and everyday financial commitments. The expanded earning routes were presented as a means of retaining membership tiers through eligible everyday activity beyond flying.
ColCap Financial Expands Qantas Money Home Loans With New Atlas Range
A new financing partner has been added to Qantas Money Home Loans through an agreement with ColCap Financial Group, one of Australia’s largest non-bank lenders. ColCap will fund the Atlas range, which is being introduced alongside home loans already funded by Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.
More choices of rates and product features are being made available. The Atlas loans are initially being offered to members refinancing an existing mortgage, while products for new property purchases are planned for the coming months. An Easy Refinance pathway will allow eligible applicants to submit an application in minutes.
ColCap’s chief executive and co-founder, Andrew Chepul, said the partnership would be supported by the lender’s 20-year record and its $25 billion portfolio of home loan assets under management. No individual interest rates were specified in the announcement. The additional lender is expected to help more members secure loans within the expanded Qantas Money range.
Qantas Home Loan Settlements Surpass $3 Billion as Demand Increases
Since the programme was introduced in February 2023, more than $3 billion in Qantas Money Home Loans have been settled, and members have earned over 1.2 billion points. New loans issued have risen 30 per cent year on year, with demand linked to borrowers and property investors on Australia’s eastern seaboard refinancing away from major banks.
According to Qantas Loyalty and Customer chief executive Andrew Glance, demand has been driven by members seeking rewards on a major monthly expense. The addition of a second lender is expected to allow more applications to be accommodated.
Qantas Home Loan Rewards Australia options are offered to eligible owner-occupiers and property investors. Fixed and variable rate options are available, including offset features. The expanded range is intended to provide flexibility while preserving the airline’s points-earning proposition. The existing lending range will remain alongside Atlas, so the new funding partner will not replace the bank.
How Qantas Frequent Flyer Points Reward Eligible Home Loan Borrowers
The Qantas Frequent Flyer Points benefit is separate from the incoming Status Credit opportunity. Under the existing rewards arrangement, 100,000 points are awarded when an eligible loan settles, followed by another 100,000 points each year for the life of that loan.
Qantas said a member holding a qualifying loan for five years would receive 600,000 points. That amount was described as enough for two return Business Classic Flight Reward seats between Sydney and Los Angeles. Members with more than one eligible mortgage, such as a home and an investment property, can earn points on both.
For travellers assessing Qantas Home Loan Rewards Australia benefits, this distinction matters. Qantas Frequent Flyer Points can be accumulated through the home loan arrangement, while Qantas Status Credits December 2026 will introduce a separate route to status earning across everyday categories. The five-year example combines the settlement award with five annual awards, showing how the total is accumulated.
What the Qantas Loyalty Expansion Means for Australian Travellers
The expansion of Qantas Money Home Loans combines a new funding partner with a change to the airline’s loyalty programme. Atlas refinancing products are now available to eligible members, while purchase loans are due to follow. The programme has passed $3 billion in settlements and delivered more than 1.2 billion points.
From December, banking and home loans will also join the categories through which Qantas Frequent Flyer Status Credits may be earned. For Australian travellers, the key distinction remains clear: Qantas Frequent Flyer Points reward eligible borrowing, while Status Credits support the earning and retention of membership status alongside flying.
