The 2025 Dubai Hatta Festival is a celebration of family fun, local entrepreneurship, and cultural richness, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Hatta’s majestic mountains. This year’s event brings together visitors of all ages to experience a unique blend of outdoor adventures, creative workshops, and vibrant local talent, highlighting Hatta’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. By offering something for everyone, the festival not only provides entertainment but also strengthens community engagement and supports local businesses, making it a must-visit destination in Dubai.

Under the guidance of the Dubai Media Council and Brand Dubai, the 2025 edition of the Hatta Festival has officially opened, bringing a vibrant blend of cultural, recreational, and community activities to the stunning backdrop of Hatta’s mountainous landscape. This year’s event, running through 28 December, is held at the picturesque Leem Lake waterfront, spanning three hectares, and is a significant part of the #DubaiDestinations campaign.

Building on the success of last year’s edition, which attracted over 650,000 visitors, the festival offers something for everyone. Designed with inclusivity and diversity in mind, it promises a memorable experience for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. The festival’s range of activities has been carefully curated to ensure a fun, engaging, and enriching time for families, from immersive cultural experiences to hands-on workshops and outdoor adventures.

The event also aligns with the goals of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan by promoting Hatta’s unique cultural, natural, and tourism assets. It positions Hatta as one of Dubai’s most inspiring outdoor destinations, showcasing its blend of modern growth and rich heritage.

This year’s festival further strengthens its local connections with the “Proudly from Dubai” initiative. Thirty local businesses, including several run by Hatta residents, are taking part in the event, offering visitors a chance to engage with and support local entrepreneurs. With a wide array of food, crafts, and other locally produced goods on display, these small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are being given a platform to expand their reach and foster community engagement.

The festival highlights the role of young entrepreneurs through the Young Entrepreneurs Competition, which, in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development, showcases the innovative talents of four young entrepreneurs from Hatta. The competition not only celebrates entrepreneurial spirit but also strengthens community ties and contributes to sustainable economic growth in the region.

An integral part of the festival’s offering is its vast array of workshops and activities. More than 150 hands-on workshops, performances, and shows cater to all ages, ensuring there’s something for everyone. One of the exciting community activities is the Cooking and Camping experience, which brings outdoor cooking and camping in the Hatta mountains together, offering visitors a unique way to experience nature. Also on offer is a Star Photography workshop, where attendees can learn the basics of astrophotography, as well as the Traditional Life in Hatta Farms, an interactive and educational activity designed for children to explore traditional ways of life.

A standout feature this year is the mini zoo, making its debut at the festival. With a variety of friendly animals such as ponies, gazelles, goats, parrots, and rabbits, the zoo offers children an interactive and educational experience, making it a must-visit attraction. The festival also includes dedicated children’s zones featuring creative workshops, educational games, and skill-building activities, ensuring that younger attendees are fully engaged throughout the event.

In addition to these attractions, the festival brings a nostalgic touch with a large games area at the entrance, featuring oversized versions of classic board games like chess, checkers, and snakes & ladders, creating a fun and social space for families. The Winter Games Zone introduces a variety of adventure-based activities, including a human crane challenge, bungee jumping, bumper cars, and large-scale skill games suitable for all ages.

New to the festival this year is the Hatta-themed Escape Room, offering visitors a puzzle-solving experience inspired by the region’s heritage and natural environment. This immersive activity encourages teamwork and problem-solving, making it an exciting addition to the festival’s diverse lineup.

For those with a creative flair, the festival features outdoor workshops overlooking the serene Leem Lake. These hands-on arts and crafts sessions, led by skilled local artisans, offer attendees a chance to engage in the creative process and learn from some of the region’s finest creators. The arts and crafts area serves as a lively hub throughout the festival, providing a space for artistic expression for all ages.

One of the festival’s key highlights is the Majlis, a traditional Emirati meeting space, sponsored by Camelicious. With its warm hospitality and stunning mountain views, the Majlis offers visitors a welcoming environment to relax, reflect, and connect with others, all while soaking in the rich cultural heritage of Hatta.

Visitors can also explore the Brand Dubai Store, where festival-themed souvenirs, inspired by the works of more than 10 local artists, are available for purchase. With over 25 unique pieces of art on display, the store provides a platform for creative expression and a chance to take home a piece of Hatta’s vibrant culture.

Throughout the festival, the Main Stage, set against the breathtaking Leem Lake, will host more than 100 shows, including popular TV programs presented by Dubai Media’s Sama Dubai TV. These performances will feature family-friendly entertainment, cultural acts, and innovative cultural performances that highlight Dubai’s diverse and rich heritage.

As night falls, the festival grounds are transformed with stunning lighting displays across the bridges over Leem Lake. Inspired by the natural beauty and heritage of Hatta, these glowing art installations add a magical touch to the festival experience, further enhancing the scenic beauty of the event.

With its diverse range of activities, community-driven initiatives, and immersive experiences, the 2025 Hatta Festival is set to be a highlight of Dubai’s cultural calendar, drawing visitors from across the city and beyond to explore the rich culture and heritage of Hatta while celebrating the spirit of community and innovation.
