The California Turkish American Association is thrilled to present the 2nd Annual San Francisco Turkish Festival, taking place at the iconic Embarcadero Plaza. Attendees will be immersed in a variety of authentic Turkish crafts, including Ebru (marbling), calligraphy, and Hereke silk carpet weaving, along with captivating performances of traditional music and dance. The California Turkish American Association (TAAC) is thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual San Francisco Turkish Festival, taking place on September 27–28, 2025, at Embarcadero Plaza. This exciting event will bring the rich culture and traditions of Turkey to the heart of San Francisco, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to immerse themselves in a variety of Turkish arts, crafts, music, and culinary delights. With a focus on cultural exchange, the festival promises to be a celebration of the diverse and vibrant heritage of Turkey, bridging communities and promoting understanding.

Visitors to the festival can look forward to a diverse range of traditional Turkish arts and crafts, including live demonstrations of Ebru (marbling), calligraphy, and Hereke silk carpet weaving. These age-old crafts will be brought to life by skilled artisans, allowing guests to witness firsthand the intricate techniques that have been passed down through generations. Additionally, Kütahya ceramics will be showcased, offering a glimpse into the rich pottery tradition of Turkey. These artistic displays will be complemented by a variety of cultural performances and exhibitions throughout the weekend.

The festival will feature captivating musical and dance performances, including Mevlevi whirling dervishes, Zeybek, Artvin, and Silifke folk dances, each showcasing different regions of Turkey. Live Turkish music concerts will further elevate the atmosphere, and performances by Azerbaijani, Kazakh, and Uyghur cultural groups will highlight the diverse cultural fabric of the Turkic world. Over 30 vendors will be on-site, offering everything from traditional Turkish delights to unique handmade products and community organizations. One of the special highlights will be the exhibits featuring Anatolian Kangal and Anatolian Shepherd dogs, living symbols of Turkish heritage, bringing a touch of the country’s rural charm to the urban setting. With the support of the Turkish Consulate General in Los Angeles, this festival will serve as a cultural bridge, fostering deeper connections between the Turkish-American community and the greater Bay Area.

“After last year’s success with over 3,000 attendees, this year’s Turkish Festival is growing into a two-day cultural celebration, uniting communities from across the Bay Area and beyond. The festival will also include representatives from the American Turko-Tatar Association, Azerbaijan Cultural Society, Bay Area Kazakh Community, Turkmenistan Citizens, Uyghur Culture Advancement Association, and the Uzbek Community Center.

The festival will present an exciting array of cultural experiences, including:

• Traditional Turkish arts and crafts, such as Ebru (marbling), calligraphy, the intricate weaving of Hereke silk carpets (where visitors can observe the process behind the world’s finest silk carpets), and Kütahya ceramics.
• A variety of music and dance performances, featuring the mesmerizing Mevlevi whirling dervishes, Zeybek, Artvin, and Silifke folk dances, live Turkish music and concerts, alongside performances from Azerbaijani, Kazakh, and Uyghur cultural groups.
• A diverse selection of Turkish cuisine, with numerous food vendors offering authentic, mouth-watering flavors.
• Over 30 vendors showcasing Turkish products, craftsmanship, and community organizations, offering visitors a true taste of Turkish culture.
• Special exhibits, including the Anatolian Kangal and Anatolian Shepherd dogs, living representations of Turkey’s rich heritage.

Supported once again by the Turkish Consulate General in Los Angeles, the festival will act as a vibrant cultural bridge, celebrating the depth of Turkey’s traditions and reinforcing connections with the wider Bay Area community.
