Brisbane Airport Unveils New Dining Experience for International Passengers

Brisbane Airport is transforming its dining scene with 13 new food & beverage outlets, enhancing the traveller experience with local and global brands.

Brisbane Airport (BNE) is preparing to make the journey of international passengers much more pleasant with the help of a new and creative food and beverage (F&B) program. The airport has collaborated with some of the best operators in the industry to bring a variety of dining experiences, which will be in accordance with both local and international palates. The new food and beverage centre is expected to be a highlight of the passenger experience, offering not only more choices but also food that is the best from Brisbane and at the same time caters to the modern traveller’s needs.

Scheduled for phased openings beginning in December 2025, the F&B upgrades are part of the broader transformation of the International Terminal, with the complete rollout expected to be finished by 2027. The new outlets will provide a welcome change for passengers who have had limited dining choices during the terminal’s renovations.

A Diverse and Localised Dining Experience

As part of its ambitious $5 billion “Future BNE” development programme, Brisbane Airport is enhancing its dining facilities by introducing 13 new outlets across various terminals. These upgrades aim to deliver an exceptional culinary experience before take-off, showcasing both local favourites and international brands. The extensive food and beverage programme will include everything from premium coffee shops and casual eateries to more upscale dining zones.

Key operators selected through a competitive tender process include Airport Retail Group Australia, SSP, Lagardère AWPL, McDonald’s, and Emirates Leisure Retail Australia. These partnerships bring a mix of both beloved Brisbane-based brands and globally recognised names to the airport.

Exciting New Concepts and Famous Brands

Among the exciting additions, Brisbane Airport will debut Kuhl-Cher Café, a popular local coffee roastery with two locations in the arrivals area. On the other hand, Merlo Café, a local favourite, will brew speciality coffee for passengers on Level 4, Departures.

For those seeking healthy, grab-and-go options, outlets like Liv Eat and Sushi Jiro will cater to quick and nutritious meals. Meanwhile, for those with a craving for something more substantial, Manna, a Mediterranean-inspired bar, will bring a touch of elegance to the Departures level, offering a refined setting for a pre-flight meal.

The largest of the new dining spaces, The Dining Precinct from Emirates Leisure Retail Australia, will span nearly 1,000 square metres and will house a wide variety of restaurants and bars. It is set to become Brisbane Airport’s largest restaurant zone, offering a mix of cuisines and dining options for passengers looking to unwind before boarding. This impressive space will introduce a blend of local favourites and international dining options.

Fast Food to Fine Dining

A range of well-known fast-food chains will also be part of the transformation. McDonald’s, KFC, and Hungry Jacks will join the new programme, bringing beloved comfort food to the airport, making it easier than ever for passengers to grab a quick bite before their flight. The airport is working to ensure a seamless dining experience for all passengers, whether they prefer a quick snack or a full meal.

The Phased Opening and Future Developments

The first of these new outlets will open in December 2025, with the entire 13-outlet programme slated for completion by 2027. As the airport continues its transformation, these new dining spaces will be a key part of making the airport a more enjoyable and welcoming place for both international travellers and airport visitors.

Brisbane Airport’s Executive General Manager Commercial, Scott Norris, emphasised that the upgrades were designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s passengers while showcasing Brisbane’s unique culinary culture. He stated that the new dining options would provide “something for everyone,” from quick bites to leisurely meals, all before embarking on a journey.

A Fresh Dining Experience Awaits

Brisbane Airport’s ambitious new food and beverage programme will significantly enhance the travel experience for international passengers. With the introduction of local brands, global favourites, and innovative new dining concepts, the airport is poised to become a destination for food lovers as well as travellers. These changes mark an exciting milestone in the ongoing transformation of Brisbane Airport, offering visitors an experience that begins with the best food, coffee, and service right from the moment they step into the terminal.
