New figures reveal the cost for all-inclusive family breaks has shot up for some of the most desirable summertime hotspots. Popular Hot Spots like Turkey, Greece, and Spain have seen package costs skyrocket, while Cyprus has been one of the most desirable hotspots to see its costs shoot up considerably.
Spiking Costs in the Hot Spots
The latest figures from TravelSupermarket, collected for BBC analysis, demonstrate the majority of the top five most-popular summer vacation spots – Spain, Greece, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Portugal – have all experienced significant price increases.
Among them, the UAE posted the fastest price increase, where the cost of the seven-night all-inclusive package for the family rose by 26 percent from £1,210 in August 2024 to £1,525 in August 2025.
Spain also registered a sharp increase, with the cost per individual for the average holiday growing from £835 in August 2024 to £914 in 2025. Similarly, the cost for the average Greek holiday has risen from £926 to £1,038 per individual, and Turkey has registered the same increase, from £874 to £1,003.
The largest increase is Cyprus, where the price of an all-inclusive seven-night family package rose 23 percent, from £950 per person in August 2024 to £1,166 in 2025.
A Vacation Change of Plans
To counter these added costs, families are altering their holiday plans. Some shorten the length of the stay, others opt for mid-week breaks in the expectation of reducing the all-in cost of holidaying. Liverpool-based travel consultant Luke Fitzpatrick for Perfect Getaways reported the trend to shorter breaks, with many families favoring four- or seven-night breaks rather than longer breaks in the name of cost-saving.
While these raises may be turn-offs for others, there is demand for travel. Julia Lo Bue-Said, CEO of Advantage Travel Partnership, explained the raises reflect the more general operating troubles of the travel industry. These include higher energy prices impacting hotels to higher meal costs impacting restaurants to higher wages in the hotel sector.
In spite of the more expensive cost, there are tourists who are willing to pay more during the holidays, opting for high-end all-inclusive trips and even more costly cabin seats for the longer flights, namely to locations such as Dubai.
Price Reductions for Destinations
Remarkably, not all of the most popular resorts are showing increases in cost. Italy and Tunisia have even shown decreases in cost, with Italy showing an 11 percent drop and Tunisia observing all-inclusive package costs to drop 4 percent from last year.
These destinations may offer more affordable options for tourists who want to have a memorable trip without breaking the bank.
Gaining popularity among the young tourists
The all-in inclusive breaks have been favorites for families for quite some time now, yet the latest findings show they’re also gaining popularity with Generation Z travelers. An On the Beach research in the first part of the year found a 4 percent year-to-year increase in booking from Gen Z travelers, who now capture 55 percent of the all-in inclusive package holiday market.
Conclusion
Adjusting to Changing Prices While the rise in all-inclusive holiday prices is a clear pattern for the majority of mainstream resorts, we cannot forget that affordably-priced opportunities for travelers continue to exist. The industry is changing to accommodate changing economics, with higher prices all the way around, but tourists are compensating by reducing the amount of time they visit for or by selecting lower-cost destinations. Premium enhancements continue to be a worthwhile option for travelers willing to splurge, yielding a longer holiday experience for those craving it. As traveling costs keep rising, the way to go is to research destinations, compare package vacations, and plan ahead. Through being informed, travelers end up enjoying a memorable summer vacation without overcommitting the budget.
