JetBlue has started daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Cali, Colombia, increasing connectivity between the U.S. and South America.

JetBlue has started daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Cali, Colombia, increasing connectivity between the U.S. and South America. New service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO) offers passengers another option to get to this beautiful region in Colombia while supporting JetBlue’s growing presence across the country and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

The route also provides travellers departing from Cali with access to JetBlue’s wider network through Fort Lauderdale, making onward journeys to destinations across the United States and the Caribbean more convenient.

JetBlue Strengthens Colombia Network with Fourth Destination

The introduction of Cali represents another step in JetBlue’s strategy to expand its presence in Colombia. The airline now serves four destinations in the country, including Cartagena, Medellín and Barranquilla.

The Cali service follows the recent introduction of nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale and Barranquilla earlier in October, reflecting the airline’s continued investment in routes connecting South Florida with important Colombian cities.

Latin America and the Caribbean account for approximately one-third of JetBlue’s overall capacity, highlighting the importance of these markets within its international network.

The additional Colombian routes are expected to improve travel options for leisure passengers, business travellers and people visiting friends and relatives. They also strengthen Fort Lauderdale’s position as a connecting point for passengers travelling between North America and northern South America.

Cali Gains Direct Access to South Florida’s Expanding Aviation Network

Cali, widely recognised as the Salsa Capital of the World, is among Colombia’s leading cultural and commercial centres. Located in the southwestern part of the country, the city attracts visitors through its vibrant music traditions, dance culture, gastronomy and surrounding natural landscapes.

The introduction of daily nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale creates new opportunities for international tourism and business connectivity.

For American travellers, the route provides direct access to a destination known for its cultural heritage and distinctive urban experiences. Colombian passengers, meanwhile, gain another option for reaching South Florida and connecting to additional destinations within JetBlue’s network.

The service could also support visiting-friends-and-relatives travel, an important segment of air passenger demand between Colombia and the United States.

Fort Lauderdale Expansion Drives JetBlue’s Largest Airport Schedule

The Cali route forms part of JetBlue’s wider expansion at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, which has become one of the airline’s principal operating centres.

Fort Lauderdale holds particular significance for JetBlue because it was the airline’s first destination. Its growing network now plays a central role in connecting domestic and international markets.

According to the airline, JetBlue currently operates more flights and serves more nonstop destinations from Fort Lauderdale than any other carrier.

In July, the airline introduced nonstop flights to eight destinations within a single week, demonstrating the scale of its recent network development.

Since December 2025, JetBlue has added 12 nonstop destinations from Fort Lauderdale. Daily departures have also increased by more than 75% compared with the corresponding period a year earlier.

Further expansion is scheduled for November, when the airline plans to introduce services to Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; and San Diego, California.

During peak winter travel periods, JetBlue expects to operate more than 150 daily departures from Fort Lauderdale, representing its largest schedule at the airport.

The expansion will increase travel choices for passengers across the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean while reinforcing South Florida’s importance as an international aviation gateway.

The new route operates daily in both directions, providing consistent connectivity between Florida and southwestern Colombia.

These timings offer travel flexibility for passengers visiting Colombia for holidays, family commitments or commercial activities.

Airbus A320 Aircraft to Operate New Colombia Flights

JetBlue will operate the Fort Lauderdale–Cali route using Airbus A320 aircraft, offering its established onboard services to passengers travelling between the two destinations.

The airline’s standard Main experience includes complimentary high-speed Fly-Fi wireless internet, individual seatback entertainment screens featuring live television, and complimentary snacks and drinks.

Passengers selecting the airline’s EvenMore offering can access additional benefits designed to improve comfort and convenience.

These include extra legroom, early boarding, dedicated overhead storage space, priority security screening where available and other onboard benefits.

The combination of daily frequencies and onboard amenities provides another competitive option for passengers travelling between Colombia and South Florida.

New Air Route Could Support Tourism and Business Travel Between Colombia and Florida

Improved air connectivity has the potential to support tourism activity, commercial exchanges and personal travel between Cali and the United States.

Direct international flights can make destinations more accessible by eliminating the need for connecting services, reducing travel complexity and giving passengers greater flexibility when planning their journeys.

For Cali, the new connection could increase visibility among travellers in South Florida and other markets accessible through JetBlue’s Fort Lauderdale network.

The service may also benefit the local visitor economy, including hotels, restaurants, transport operators and tourism businesses, if it generates additional international arrivals.

For Fort Lauderdale, the new Colombian destination strengthens its role as a gateway between the United States and Latin America.

However, the actual economic and tourism impact will depend on passenger demand, route performance and the number of additional visitors generated by the service.

JetBlue’s Colombia Expansion Highlights Growing Importance of Latin American Connectivity

The introduction of daily Fort Lauderdale–Cali flights demonstrates JetBlue’s continued focus on developing its Latin American network while increasing capacityat its South Florida operating centre.

With four Colombian destinations now included in its route network, the airline is expanding travel options between the two countries and strengthening access to important cultural and commercial markets.

The forthcoming additions of Columbus, Indianapolis and San Diego will further broaden Fort Lauderdale’s domestic connectivity, creating additional travel possibilities for passengers using the airport.

As JetBlue plans its largest-ever peak winter schedule at Fort Lauderdale, the new Cali service is another piece of its overall international expansion plan.

For travellers, it means more direct options, easier access to the southwest of Colombia and more opportunities to connect through one of South Florida’s major airports.
